Darling Square is welcoming the Year of the Rabbit with hundreds of traditional lanterns lighting up the night, artwork from Chris Yee, a traditional gifts and sweets pop up cart, delicious Lunar New Year themed dishes, live music and lion dances.
Chinese wishing trees, money trees and hong bao trees are a big part of Chinese New Year festivities. These trees are decorated with red and gold ribbons and have hongbao hanging from them symbolically filled with good fortune scripture and lucky omens for the new year. Make a wish under the tree and you may win a special prize!
AUVERS CAFE have created a special dish that synergizes Lunar New Year with Australia day, the "Oui Rabbit! How ya goin?" with braised Kangaroo, boiled eggs, parsnip puree, wagyu fat mushrooms and foie gras.
IIKO MAZESOBA has two delicious special LNY dishes to enjoy, the Rabbit Parfait with your choice of Matcha or Houjicha gelato served with red bean and shiratama rice balls or the Prosperity Mazesoba, tangy noodle salad with tuna and salmon caviar to symbolise good fortune and wealth.
DOPA BY DEVON are ushering in the Lunar New Year with their 'Prosperity Teishoku Set'. This indulgent meal is made with Mizayaki A5 wagyu, seared foie gras, gold leaf, cured egg yolk and comes with koshihikari rice and miso soup.
