Pyrmont Bridge is the largest heritage listed swing-span bridge in the world, and spans Cockle Bay.
The bridge is the only clearly defined east-west connection between the city and Ultimo/Pyrmont and experiences high levels of pedestrian and cycle traffic.
The structure is significant for its heritage and landmark values. Guardian Square refers to the open space at the western end of the bridge.

Light Infrastructure Activations are only permitted on the western end (Pyrmont side of the bridge), on the paved area.
Pyrmont Bridge is an item of environmental heritage that is identified on PMNSW’s Heritage Register. Temporary events on the bridge cannot qualify as exempt or complying development.
In addition to general standards/criteria, the proposed event must:
- Not obstruct the general flow of pedestrians and cyclists along the bridge.
