How weird has the last month been? Not long ago, we hadn’t even heard of the Coronavirus and now we’re all sitting at home in trackpants and slippers wondering what’s next.
During these strange times, we need comfort food more than ever. Juicy burgers and pizza topped with melty mozzarella. Syrupy strong coffee and donuts filled with nutella. Banh mi’s stuffed with crackling pork and locally brewed beer full of hops.
Luckily, there are a few hospitality legends who are staying open to provide us with the good stuff. Get your stretchy pants on and support local businesses by ordering from these Darling Harbour restaurants, cafes and bars offering takeaway and delivery.
While you can’t gorge yourself on all you-can-eat Brazillian style meat at Braza Churrascaria, you can do the next best thing and order it in. These legends are now on Uber Eats offering a select range of ribs, burgers and barbequed meats to eat at home. Of if you feel like cooking Braza Churrascaria are also delivering all the stuff that goes into their delicious barbeque via their online store, including raw and marinated meats, seasonings and spicy peppers.
Nok Nok Thai Eating House
You can’t travel right now but you can order in Thai food that tastes just as good as it does in Thailand. Nok Nok Thai Eating House is still open for takeaway pick up orders and Deliveroo.
Taste Baguette bake fresh pastries and baguettes every day that are perfect for a lockdown lunch or sweet treat. Their banh mi is legendary, stuffed with pate, pickled carrot and yum crunchy pork.

The Naked Duck
The Naked Duck are so serious about serving perfectly cooked cuts of meat that they imported a traditional handmade rotisserie all the way from France. This modern Australian/French bistro also serves a full breakfast range, healthy salads and rolls in freshly baked bread - all available for takeaway.
Bucket Boys Bar and Bottle Shop
I think it’s fair to say we all need a drink right now. The Bucket Boys Sydney bar and bottle shop still offers their huge selection of craft beer and natural wine takeaway, including growler fills with beer fresh from the keg. Plus they do delivery for free on orders over $40 on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Goobne is a Korean Oven roasted chicken joint that blasts their birds in an oven at 195 degrees, making them super crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. You can still grab their original, spicy and cheese fondue chicken via Uber Eats, MenuLog and Easi.
The buzzing atmosphere at Nakano Darling izakaya bar is sadly no more for the foreseeable. But they’re still offering all the favourites via UberEats and takeaway, including karaage chicken, gyoza and selected Japanese beers and high balls in the can or bottle.
IIKO Mazesoba serves a new kind of ramen without the broth. Instead they serve thick soba noodles served with delicious toppings and a savoury chilli vinegar sauce. The idea is that you mix all the toppings in while the noodles are still hot so that they’re covered in a thick, flavourful sauce.
