Each Sunday this March, families and friends can explore ancient Egyptian lives. Bring the past to life by looking through the eyes of an architect, artist, archaeologist or pharaoh. Learn about ancient Egyptian buildings, what pharaohs wore or how artists worked, or become an archaeologist for the day. Enjoy hands-on making, ancient-Egyptian-themed storytelling, dress-ups and much more around the museum. Watch a live match of Senet, one of the first board games, straight from ancient Egypt. And when all the activity has made you hungry, feast on Egyptian falafel at the MAAS Café.
With a different focus each week, you can dig deep into the lives of ancient Egyptians.
Sunday 19 March: Guinness World Record Attempt
Join a Guinness World Record attempt—the most people dressed as mummies at a single venue. You’ll be given everything you need to wrap yourself as a mummy, just bring yourself.
Sunday 26 March: Artist
Investigate the role of symbolism and storytelling within Egyptian art. Draw your own ancient Egyptian portrait, plus add to a large collaborative mural.
